Educational language policy in Ghana: Inserting the global into the local

This publication examines educational language policy in Ghana within the broader relationship between global influences and local educational realities.

It considers the choices surrounding language in education in a multilingual national context where English has an important official and educational role alongside Ghanaian languages. The discussion places language policy within wider questions about education, policy-making and the relationship between internationally influential approaches and local circumstances.
