Examined changes in policy and practice in Ghana’s agri-food sector and their implications for young people’s employment and futures, including policy narratives, youth-focused programmes and emerging opportunities in agriculture.

Investigated how struggles for human rights are shaped and constrained by power relations and structural inequalities, with a focus on rights organisations and civic action in Ghana within a wider comparative multi-country study.

Examined the risks and vulnerabilities faced by internal migrant workers in Ghana’s pineapple export sector and explored how social protection mechanisms could better support workers exposed to insecure employment and commercial shocks.

Examined changes in women’s work in Ghana’s formal and informal sectors, focusing on banking and paid domestic work and the implications of changing employment conditions for women’s livelihoods and security.

Led the Ghana component of a 10-city study of the urban informal economy, examining how street vendors in Accra are affected by economic trends, urban policies, value-chain dynamics and other forces shaping their working conditions and livelihoods.

Used Q methodology to examine how young people and their parents in Ghana understand employment and farming, with particular attention to aspirations, perceptions of desirable work and attitudes toward agriculture.
