Assessed the experiences of rural households benefiting from solar photovoltaic systems in northern Ghana, using surveys and focus group discussions across 40 communities to examine access, use and outcomes of the rural electrification initiative.

Examined the roles, representations and public perceptions of women in contemporary Ghana through a combination of desk research and primary data collection, covering women’s socio-economic participation, media representation and gendered social norms.

Examined how collective action movements in Africa can be monitored, evaluated and understood, with particular attention to changing theories of change, mobilisation strategies, leadership and learning within social movements.

Assessed the situation of young people across Africa and developed a policy toolbox to support governments in designing more inclusive and sustainable policies that promote youth wellbeing and development.

Tracks tertiary graduates in Ghana as they transition from National Service into the labour market, examining their education, skills, work experience and employment outcomes to better understand the challenges facing young graduates.

Examined young people’s livelihood pathways in Ghana, Tanzania and Zimbabwe within areas experiencing agricultural commercialisation, with attention to employment opportunities, risks and changing rural economies.
